The principle and advantages of freeze dryer

Principle of Freeze Drying:
The freeze drying process involves several stages:
Freezing: The material to be dried is frozen at very low temperatures. This freezes the water content within the material and turns it into ice.
Vacuum: The freeze dryer creates a vacuum within the chamber. At low pressures and temperatures, the ice transitions from a solid to a gaseous state through sublimation, bypassing the liquid phase.
Primary Drying (Sublimation): During this stage, the ice crystals vaporize, and the water vapor is removed from the material. Heat energy is introduced to facilitate sublimation, usually through radiant heat or conduction.
Secondary Drying (Desorption): In this stage, any remaining bound water molecules are removed by raising the temperature slightly. This step ensures that the material is thoroughly dried.
